Tai Lam Country Park : It was a fun hike across the Route Twisk on the section 9 of MacLehose Trail. Part of the longest hiking trail in Hong Kong, Tai Lam Country Park is located south of Yuen Long and east of Tuen Mun, in the western New Territories of Hong Kong. Overlooking the urban Hong Kong lie the foresty stretch which at times would give an impression of being lost in the woods.... and lost we were, indeed. Until we found a group of cyclists who guided us down the hill and back into the city :-)

Wilson Trail - Section 2 : Hong Kong is a pleasure place for hiking. Here we take up the section 2 of Wilson Trail and go uphill a couple of times. Wilson Trail is a 70+ km hike spanning across the New Territories, Kowloon and the Hong Kong Island. Section 2 is a little over 6km and comprises of 2 hills - mt butler and Jardine's lookout What we got were some breathtaking views of the urban Hong Kong cluster on one side and the all natural melody of the reservoirs, mountains and sea on the other. What added to the moment were the dark cloud formations and finally a burst of rain that had us drenched by the time we finished our hike :-)

Macro with Extension Tubes : I waited a long time to shoot macro with my kit. The biggest hurdle was the lack of a macro lens. The money was (and is still) too much. So there come my so far unused kenko extension tube set coupled with the Thrifty Fifty (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II) and my Canon EOS 400D. I would say I was more than satisfied with my first macro outing. Walked around my apartment for about an hour to settle for these three dozen exposures --Enjoy

Po Lin Monastery : Po Lin Monastery is a Buddhist monastery, located on Ngong Ping Plateau, on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The monastery was founded in 1906 by three monks visiting from Jiangsu and was initially known as "The Big Hut". It was renamed to its present name in 1924. The main temple houses 3 bronze statues of the Buddha representing his past, present and future lives as well as many Buddhist scriptures. Tian Tan Buddha, a giant Buddha statue completed in 1993, is an extension of the monastery.
